Bow Tie Cloche in Blue and Cream

Another  Bow Tie Cloche

I sure like this pattern.  This time I paired Cascade Fixation in cream (off white)
with a pretty blue Berroco  Comfort DK. I love the combination of these colors.

Berroco Comfort DK is one of my favorite yarns for chemo caps and this yarn must be a bit finer/thinner the other DK yarns I've used for this pattern.
This hat is not as slouchy as the other Bow Tie Cloches I've made.
 I think it's a really good size.

I am planning to make another Bow Tie Cloche with the cream colored Cascade Fixation along with Berroco Comfort DK in pink (Rosebud... my favorite shade).

Knitting Monsters

Knit up some some monsters this week.
Knit Picks sent an email to me and the Chubby Chirps pattern was attached.
So of course I had to make one.
Then I had to make some Monster Chunks.
This Monster Chunk is Zach's; he picked the colors. He especially likes the eyes on this one.

Initially I did not put a mouth on this Monster Chunk.
I kind of liked how he looked without a mouth, too.

Funny how different the colors look in different lighting.  The feet are orange (more accurate in photo where the Monster Chunk has the mouth attached).

I think the Chubby Chirps pattern is especially adorable. I struggled with the beak a bit.
The Chirp is called "Pinto". Yep, he's filled with pinto beans. They all are.  I used rice in the foot of the green monster chunk but the rice can fall out if the knitting is not super tightly knit.

My little menagerie sat in the window today. They are pretty good company.  They are pretty darn cheerful, aren't they?

Bernie: A hat

A hat called "Bernie" by the Bellsisters (Debbie and Susan)...

I knit this hat out of Berroco Weekend (fuschia pink), Berroco Comfort (pale ice blue), and Cascade Fixation (bright white). I've become Ravelry friends with the Bellsisters and they were nice enough to send me the pattern for "Bernie".  This was a very fun knit!  I especially love the top portion of the hat!  I also love the "houndstooth pattern" in the middle of the cap which is created rather simply just by slipping stitches.  The pattern looks complicated but the instructions say, "If you can knit with one color per row, then you can make Bernie!"  And that really is the case.

"Bernie" is named in honor of the Bellsister's mom. Very sweet!

The fuschia pink yarn in this hat was a gift from my good friend Harriet! Thanks Harriet!  I love it!
