Chestnut Cable Cardigan... still in progress...

Click on photos for larger image.
The end is nearing... I need to finish the second sleeve.  Also, there will be ribbing up and down the right and left front panels.  I also need to make button holes and add the terrific buttons I found.

Finally a photo to show you the braided cable detail which travels down the sleeves.

I love the mirror-image cables down the front of the sweater.

Another photo of the cable details.
Boy, oh BOY... a sweater for an adult sure is a LOT of work. I did take a wee break from my sweater to make my Hot Pink Hat, but now I am diligently working on my sweater.  Here are a bunch of photos to show you my progress.  I am making a goal for myself... TRY to finish this sweater before the end of the week and TRY to NOT start any new knitting projects before I finish this sweater.  Wish me LUCK!

Hot Pink Hat

I found this pattern on Ravelry awhile back and have been wanting to make it ever since. I used Berroco Comfort DK yarn (in hot pink!) with size 2 and size 3 circular needles (16 inch). The hat pattern is called Hermione Hearts Ron (if you are a Harry Potter fan, that will mean something to you!).  This pattern and this yarn are both sheer bliss!  Love them both!

Chestnut Cable Cardigan in progress

Just a quick post to show you where I am at on my my Chestnut Cable Cardigan.  I have divided the body and the sleeves.  This allowed me to actually try the sweater on and see if the fit is close.  I am pretty happy with the fit.  The sweater will also have some ribbing up and down the left and right front.  Eventually I'll get a better photo to show you the braided cable on which travels down the sleeves.  I think that cable will look a bit better after some blocking... otherwise... so far, so good!

Chestnut Cable Cardigan

I can't hardly put this sweater down!  I found this pattern for a top-down cardigan on Lion Brand.  Click HERE for the pattern link.  I've made a few different top-down cardigans for babies from Lion Brand, so I was happy to see find this pattern for me the other day. I am not following Lion Brand's pattern to a "T". Instead, I am adding cables to other parts of the sweater.  Down the front, you can see mirror image cables from The Great American Aran Afghan.  Click HERE to see that square if you are interested.  On the sleeves, I am also adding a cable which resembles a braid.  When the sweater is complete, I will go back to the left and right fronts, pick up and knit stitches, and then knit about two inches of ribbing which matches the ribbing at the neck.  I sure hope this fits well!

Mandee's Top-Down Baby Jacket is Complete!

Mandee's Baby Jacket is complete.  Goodness, I struggled with finishing the second sleeve at my Thursday afternoon knitting group today!  I do need to find three cute little buttons to truely be done.  I am going to make a matching hat with some of the same eyelet detail. I had considered making the Upside Down Daisy Hat by Susan B. Anderson, but right now I am not too keen on making all the petals and sewing them on... lazy!  I also have so many projects going on right now, I just want to make a quick and simpler hat so this project is done.  I have so many other things I want to get to.  Hobbies should not be quite so overwhelming!
